The application is an online marketplace for families to book babysitting appointments from caregivers.
The app allows users to directly connect and make arrangements with each other.
The challenge and solution
Our client recognized that the problem of selecting a reliable babysitter for his own children might be a concern for others.
The client had an idea of a solution that would make this choice for him and thousands of young families easier – a marketplace for parents and babysitters.
After extensive research, it became clear that the existing solutions were either too basic or outdated.
TBR Group provided support and added a variety of new features. One of the primary and core features that we have already implemented was a verified network to make sure babysitters and families are kept safe.
Chat
The chat feature ensures a higher level of data transmission security. Plus, it makes the application more convenient for users. The chat allows sending pictures and text messages. To show a new message notification, we opted for the Cloud Functions technology.
Swishboom verification process
To keep both the families and the sitters safe, there is a verification process established by the company.
For a caregiver
To enter the verified sitter network every babysitter has to go through the approval process. A Swishboom team member, being an actual human, checks:
email and phone verification;
social media verification;
call three personal references;
sex offender registry check.
For a caretaker
For Families to get their jobs claimed on the verified network a Swishboom team member:
call three sitters or personal references.
Subscription
We have done subscriptions via the RevenueCat. service, implementing promotional offers for the App Store and Google Play. RevenueCat simplifies implementation and maintenance, manages customer subscription status, and solves painful edge cases so that you can get back to building your app.
Rating and Reviews
The main goal for TBR Group as a development team lies in making the application as safe as it can possibly be for all those users involved. Since our application is related to working with children, the safety level is the most important to us.
We have developed the Rating and Review system to meet security goals.
Now, after each piece of work, users can rate one another, leave comments and wishes, and express displeasure.
Each community member obtains his own average rating indicator, available to all the other users. Based on the rating level, the participants can make a decision on further cooperation.
Referral rewarding system
As one of the most powerful tools for onboarding new users is an affiliate program, we have implemented the referral rewarding system that allows involving novel users via the referral invitation distributions.
Hence, we have created a rewarding scheme to motivate existing users to invite their friends to join the community. It is possible to invite referrals via an affiliate hyperlink, messengers, e-mails, a QR Code option, or copy-pasting a referral code.
As soon as an invited recipient opens up a referral link, he is directed to the App Store or Google Play Store to install the Swishboom mobile app, in case the app has not been previously installed on his device.
The Firebase Dynamic Link service is used for sending the referral links and extracting the promo codes out of these links. We have implemented the Firebase Cloud Functions to reward qualified participants.

The number of installations in Google Play exceeds 500+ with a rising trend in the members' enrolment. The App Store’s Ratings and Reviews show a 4.7 out of 5 rating scale. Some positive reviews that have been published describe the app as the “best babysitting app” ever to make the “life easier”.
